P.G.D.E.M. Course

Objectives of the Course:

1.	To appraise the students about the latest technological development in the field of environmental pollution control and safety.
2.	To impart intensive need-based practical training programme on inter-disciplinary approach.
3.	To create environmental awareness.
4.	To make available human-resource needed to meet the growing demand of experts in the field of environmental science, management and technology to give solution to the local / regional / national / global problems.

Eligibility and Intake:

Post Graduate in any discipline or Graduate in any subject with 5 years of industrial experience in related field / teaching.

Intake: 30 per year

Structure of P.G.D.E.M. Course:

Semester – I
101	Ecology and Natural Resources
102	Environmental Impact Assessment & Environmental Management System
103	Air & Water Pollution
104	Elective Subjects (Any one of the following subjects is to be selected by a student) 1. Forest and Wildlife Conservation 2. Geographical Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing and Natural Resource Management 3. Environmental Toxicology 4. Agro-chemicals and Pest Management 5. Disaster Management
105	Practical based on Paper 101 to 103 and Field and/or Industrial Visits
106	Practical based on Elective Subject (i.e. Paper 104)
Semester – II
201	Environmental Engineering and Design
202	Solid Waste Management Technology
203	Environmental Legislation and Policy
204	Elective Subjects (Any one of the following subjects is to be selected by a student) 1. Advanced Water and Wastewater Treatment Technology 2. Industrial Ecology, Health and Occupational Hazards 3. Water Management 4. Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology 5. Soil and Land Management
205	Practical based on Paper 201 to 203 and Field and/or Industrial Visits
206	Practical based on Elective Subject (i.e. Paper 204)
