Library is the heart of any institution.. It is expected to serve the entire staff, students & its alumni to help them in their academic work. The Library creates an atmosphere of mutual help & goodwill among the students, teaching staff and the library staff. It is a nucleus of the college for educating readers in right direction to prepare then to face the challenges of life and assert their rights. It provides necessary facilities to its readers to attend proficiency in the fields if their specialization and to assignment general knowledge. It serves as a center of providing recreation to its readers, which is vital for mental development, for enabling readers to utilize their leisure time, for engendering in them love for books & humanity & to be an enviable medium for helping use all round development of the community.

The information age has (aid to the dot.com culture and mushrooming of cyber cafes where information can be searched on the internet but the information being vast and voluminous it creates problems for the browsers to identify, retrieve information in time, Hence the printed book still remains a real need of the student community, the role of college library to therefore significant in information support system. 

i. Library committee:
The Institute has a standing Library Committee authorized by the Management. The committee inclusive of 20 faculty members inclusive of all Heads of the Departments & headed by one very senior expert & one librarian as a member secretary.
The committee meets twice a year and reviews all the activities of the library & recommends to take further improvements. Important decisions are noted down and action taken to implement the same.  Monitoring of the use of library is being done by the committee regularly.

ii. Librarians involvement in the academic activities:
Librarian is the member of staff council & various sub committees. He is involved directly & indirectly in the academic activities of the institute.
Besides being involved in the activities of the institute, he is involved in many other academic activities outside the college, viz, teaching B.Lib.Sc. students of YCMOU University, Nasik and IGNOU, New Delhi.

iii. Finance:
The total revenue of the library every year comes approximately 3 lakhs through library fees, grants from UGC every year.
The management spends approximately 13 Lakhs every year only for purchase of books, periodical & other reading materials.

iv. Book selection & purchase:
New books are scanned & selected for purchase by the Heads of respective departments & the library purchases through regular procedure & they are exhibited in the library after their receipt and the respective Heads of Department are informed on receipt regularly. Total stock of upto 31 March 2007

v. Periodicals & Journal Section :
The Institute subscribes to 141 journals of National & International level spending approximately Rs. 150000 every year.
There is a very good arrangement where all the journals including the news papers are displayed & seating arrangement for students & faculty is made available to sit & read. The section works for 8 hours a day except Sunday. Back volumes for reference are kept in the drawer so as to facilitate the scholars to refer it immediately.
vi. The library services:
Library working hours:- 10.00 to 7.00 p.m. Reading room:- 7.00am. to 12.00 p.m.

The Reading Room, which is managed by the student, is kept open for 17 hours a day continuously ever on Sunday. The Reading Room facility is availed by nearly 85-100 students.
Inter-library services are also in use between the University Library & the local college libraries.

Two books are issued to students for a week and books are issued for a month per teacher for home use. There is a special BOOK BANK facility is provided for students of the Department of Computer Studies & M.B.A. , M.S.W.

User orientation course:
The librarian conducts user orientation programme for every academic year, for the benefit of new entrance to educate the students regarding the existence of difference sections, membership procedure, its rules & regulations, its collection & various facilities available for open access.

Xerox Facility:
A Xerox machine is installed in the library so as to facilitate the students & faculty to get their reading materials Xeroxed at reasonable competitive rates.

Reference Service:
A very good collection of Reference Books is maintained in the library like Encyclopedias, yearbooks, Almanack, manuals, handbooks, & dictionaries & with the help of there reference works, many interesting queries of the students are handled & satisfactory information is provided.

Computerization:
There is no need to mention the importance of automation in a modern library. The management has already provided a computer P_II & P-IV with necessary licensed software and printer and the entire book collection of 45,000 has been recorded & the database is prepared. In course of time the entire periodical & back volumes collection will be recorded by using bar-code system, the work of charging & discharging of books through the computer will be implemented.
