Introduction :
SIBER Boys hostel is situated in the campus of the Institute which is at just 5 minutes walking distance from the main building. The Students of the various programmes such as MBA , MCA, M.Sc., MSW, PGDCA, MPhil, were staying in the Hostel . Following is the brief report of the Hostel.

Infrastructure
- The hostel building has three floors and on each floor there are 22 rooms.
-
There are in all 71 rooms available in the hostel. Out of that 6 rooms are single occupancy rooms while 3 rooms are 4 occupancy rooms and rest of the 62 are double occupancy rooms.
- The intake capacity of the boys Hostel is 148.
- Each room is provided with a fan and tube light.
- Efforts are made to add aesthetic value by placing the posters in the Verandahs.
- Each student is given a table and a chair .
- A small garden is being developed in the premises of the hostel.
Canteen facilities are available to the students. However the inmates are free to select canteen or outside mess for meals |

| Academic Ambience:-
Academic ambience is taken care of by providing blackboard ,tables and chairs in the common room. Daily Newspapers The Times of India, Economic Times, Business Express along with local dailies are subscribed. In order to facilitate education , Gyandarshan channel was made available through DTH which was installed in the hostel.
Meetings with the all inmates of the hostel are conducted on periodic basis. In order to deal with stress, two programmes on meditation were conducted during August and September 2006. One of the programme was on personality development conducted for the students in December 2006. |

| Water Facility
Drinking water is made available to the inmates by installing the Water purifier on each floor.
The water is provided through the Overhead tank. Water is available for 24 hours. Besides that there is Ground water tank situated near to the hostel building as a reserve. |

| Medical Facility
Primary Medical facility is provided to the inmates in the medical room which is situated at the Ground floor.
First Aid Medical facility is provided in the hostel. A resident doctor Dr. Nilesh Shah is available for initial consultation free of charge to the students.
In this year , two students were seriously ill who were admitted by the Hostel Authority. |

Sports Facility
Sports material is given to the inmates. Material like Football, Basketball, Chess , Carom, Tennis Table is provided.
The material like dumbbells provided for physical exercise. The exercise equipments are made available outside the hostel for exercise. |

| Activities at the Hostel
With consensus of the inmates, festivals such as Ganesh Festival, Christmas, Shivjayanti, Rangpanchami, 31st December were celebrated in the Hostel.
SIBER Boy’s Hostel Day was celebrated in the Boys Hostel on 3rd March 2007. On that occasion the sports activities were conducted and prizes were distributed to the students and it was followed by the dinner.
Send-off party was arranged for 2nd Year students of all the courses in the hostel. |

Maintenance of the Building
-
Every year, in the Summer vacation broken glass panels are fixed.
-
Regular maintenance of the water leakage, carpentry work, electric repairs are carried out in the hostel.
