The idea of establishing an independent Institute for Management Education under the Shivaji University area, was mooted by Dr. A.D. Shinde, a renowned chartered Accounted, Tax Consultant Accountant, Tax Consultant and then Dean of Commerce Faculty of the Shivaji University. The degrees are awarded by the Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
